Frequently Asked Questions
Are these keycaps compatible with my keyboard?
All Cherri Roll keycaps are made for Cherry MX style switches. While this is the most common switch on mechanical keyboards, not every keyboard uses them.
To check if your keyboard is compatible, carefully remove one of the keycaps and check to see if there is a plus (+) shaped button underneath. If you see the plus (+) shaped button, you should have the compatible switch required for artisan keycaps.
Please check out the pictures below for examples of compatible MX style switches and other examples of incompatible switches.
Cherri Roll artisan keycaps generally do not work with laptop keyboards or other low-profile keyboards.
If you’re still unsure about compatibility, feel free to reach out and I'll be happy to assist you.
Can I eat them?
While our artisan keycaps may resemble delicious treats, they are not edible and should never be consumed. They are designed purely for aesthetic purposes. Please keep them out of reach of children and pets, and enjoy their beauty without the temptation to taste them. Please do not eat, bite, lick, or otherwise them or put them in your mouth, no matter how edible they appear to be.
Are these a good gift for kids?
Artisan keycaps can be used by or gifted to kids, but they are not advised for children under 12 years old. Keycaps are small and may pose a choking hazard for children. It's important to supervise younger children during use and ensure that the keycaps are appropriate for their age. For kids aged 12 and older, artisan keycaps can be a fun and unique gift that allows for personalization and creativity.
How do I clean my keycaps?
To keep your keycaps looking their best, avoid exposure to harsh chemicals, direct sunlight for extended periods, or rough handling. If they get dusty or dirty, you can gently clean them with a soft, damp brush or cloth with mild soap and water. Please avoid using anything too abrasive.
Do you take custom orders?
At the moment, I don’t take custom orders—but I’m always open to suggestions for future designs! If there’s something you’d love to see, let me know.
Do you sell keycaps anywhere else?
My artisan keycaps are sold exclusively through this website (cherriroll.com) and my original Etsy storefront (under the name JOYCAPshop).
When do you restock?
All keycaps are made to order and will be only be sold out if I run out of a material used to make them or if a design is about to be discontinued. Any updates on discontinued items/restocks/new releases are generally announced on my social media.
Do you accept bulk orders?
In most cases, I gladly accept bulk orders. Please contact me for additional information if you intend to purchase a large quantity of artisan keycaps.
Discounted pricing is available for larger orders of 10+ keycaps, please reach out for a quote.
When will my order arrive?
All artisan keycaps are made to order and generally take 1-2 weeks to make, not including shipping time to arrival. Please see our shipping policy for more information.

Caring For Your Keycaps
Cherri Roll keycaps are made to last, but here are a few tips to keep them looking their best:
- Cleaning: Run under water, or wipe gently with a soft, damp cloth or soft-bristled brush if needed. Avoid using harsh cleaners.
- Handling: Treat your keycaps like the tiny works of art they are! Be careful when removing or replacing them to avoid damaging the stem, especially on keycaps with small or thin elements that stick out.
- Removal: While it's generally OK to remove regular keycaps with a keycap puller, please avoid removing artisan keycaps with a small plastic keycap puller. Artisan Keycaps can usually be coaxed off your keyboard with a gentle upward pull with your fingers. If you need to use a keycap puller, please opt for a larger wire keycap puller.
- Storage: If you’re switching out your keycaps, store them somewhere safe, like a small box or tray to prevent scratches or dust buildup, and to help prevent misplacing or losing them.
